The Duursche Waarden is a 120-hectare nature reserve owned by the State Forestry Commission in the municipality of Olst-Wijhe near the hamlet of Fortmond. De Duursche Waarden consists of river arms, marshes and pieces of woodland in the floodplains of the river IJssel. The area is named after the nearby hamlet of Duur. River clay was mined there for centuries for the brick production that took place on a fairly large scale. This photo was taken 15 minutes before sunrise.
