The Dutch landrace goat - once called the Veluwe landrace goat - is the only surviving original Dutch goat species. The landrace goat is easily recognisable by its impressive horns and long fur. Halfway through the 20th century the species was virtually extinct. Since then, things have improved and you sometimes come across them when they are allowed to graze somewhere. This buck was just doing that when he started staring in front of him. If you look closely, you can see that it misses quite a bit of its left horn - probably the result of a fight with another buck.
