This is a photo of one of the windmills in Leidschendam (The Netherlands). The purpose was to remove excess water in order to create a polder, in this case the Driemanspolder. Built in 1672, this mill has seen action up to 1951. Today, you can see it work one day (a Saturday) a month. There are no possibilities for a tour inside the mill itself.
