A Leonardo AW189 rescue helicopter of the Dutch Coast Guard. The Dutch Coast Guard is the national coast guard of the Netherlands. Its roots go back to 1883 and the current organisation was established in 1987. In 1995, it came under the management of the Royal Netherlands Navy. The Coast Guard can deploy two SAR helicopters 24/7. This is for carrying out search and rescue operations, medical evacuations and transporting a mobile fire team to an incident ship. One helicopter is stationed at Den Helder Airport and the other at Midden Zeeland Airport.
