On Terschelling, the coast delineates itself in shapes that are constantly changing, yet feel familiar.
This shot shows a dune wall with eroded patterns created by wind, sand and time. The beach grass follows the lines of the landscape and adds softness to the rough texture of the sand. In the warm light, the whole takes on an almost sculptural quality, like a natural relief wall, composed of layers and lines.
The colours are earthy and subdued: beige, light brown, gold and grey. Nothing is too much, nothing distracting. Everything is right in rhythm and composition.
This image speaks to the viewer in a subtle way: it invites you to look without haste, to appreciate what seems obvious. It takes you to a place where silence and nature coincide.
Those who love natural structures, coastal landscapes and timeless simplicity will feel at home in this work.
