A low perspective brings Terschelling's soil up close: mosses, ferns, heather and dry grass combine to form a carpet of shapes and colours. The horizon is high in the picture, balancing the sky and landscape. The light is soft and oblique, as if the day is about to tilt.
This image shows the richness of small structures; a landscape that does not scream, but whispers. The colour tones are natural and earthy: greens, brownish reds, straw yellows, grey blues. A hushed moment on an island that lives on light, wind and soil.
