Dubrovnik (Italian and German: Ragusa), (Hungarian: Raguza) is a port city in Dalmatia, a region of Croatia, on the Adriatic Sea. The city has about 50,000 inhabitants (2001) and is the capital of Dubrovnik-Neretva Province.

Dubrovnik, which is located under Mount Srđ, is considered one of the most beautiful cities on the Adriatic coast and is therefore also called the "Pearl of the Adriatic. Dubrovnik's ancient, completely walled fortified city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
