The Willemsbrug is a bridge over the Nieuwe Maas river in the centre of Rotterdam, connecting the right bank of the Nieuwe Maas river to Noordereiland. The current bridge is the second generation Willemsbrug. The first was designed by C.B. van der Tak, opened in 1878 and was named after King Willem III. The second bridge was designed by C. Veerling and was completed in 1981.
