Downtown Utrecht with Catharijnekerk. St Catherine's Cathedral, better known as the Catharijnekerk, is used as the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Utrecht. It was built between 1470 and 1551. In 1900, the nave was extended by one bay to the west. The new west wing received a 53-metre-high tower inspired by that of the city hall in Kampen.
