The Douglas A-1 Skyraider was a support fighter for the U.S. Navy and could operate from both a flight deck and a runway on land.
The Douglas A-1 Skyraider prototype made its maiden flight in March 1945. The aircraft could carry a very large weapon load on external suspension points (hardpoints) under the fuselage and wings.

It was then transferred to the South Vietnam Air Force in 1970. In 1975 it ended up in Thailand and around 1980 it returned to the US and was salvaged in Long Beach, California. In the late '80s, it was fully restored and made flyable again.
