Wooden door with a pink wall. This colorful facade was photographed in the tourist mountain village of Erice. Erice is an ancient town in western Sicily. Erice is built on a mountain and from this place you have a fantastic view of part of the island of Sicily. Furthermore, you can see the salt pans of Trapani and you have a view of the Egadi Islands.
Erice is very touristy. In high season there are dozens of buses with tourists who visit Erice for a few hours every day. And that is a pity, because Erice is definitely worth a few days stay. Early in the morning and in the evening you will find a lot less tourists. Only those who stay in Erice or surroundings. Lovely stroll through the narrow streets and enjoy the architecture. It is generally not very colorful, except for this pink facade.
