The Dodge Brothers founded their company Dodge Brothers Motor Vehicle Company in 1914, after working at Ford as engine builders. In 1928, Chrysler acquired Fargo Trucks and Dodge Brothers.
In 1935 they launched the Dodge DU, which not only had a revised narrower grille but it had a lower roofline, lower floor and parking lamps mounted on the front fenders aprons. The 1935 DU features a 217.8 cubic-inch Straight-6 that developed 87 horsepower. It had a new innovation of a concealed radiator cap. The base price model was $770. Convertible coupe production was only 950 units.
Photo taken at a Retro Car show, held twice a year in my hometown, where these beautiful classic cars are showcased and the event finishes with a great parade through the city.
