As the artist, I sought to capture the complexity of human nature—the coexistence of light and shadow, harmony and conflict within a single being. The face, split along its central axis, symbolizes this duality. The left side, rendered in soft beige tones, represents clarity, vulnerability, and the conscious self. In contrast, the right side, enveloped in deep red, embodies intensity, passion, and the subconscious.
The figure’s direct gaze invites the viewer to confront these opposing forces within themselves. The red garment, which merges seamlessly with the right side of the face, suggests a protective shell or an emotional weight, while the vibrant green background provides a stark contrast, amplifying the figure’s presence and energy.
