Digital painting panorama on authentic corn mill the Otter in Oterleek, based on original own photo.
The Otter is a corn mill with a thatched roof in Oterleek. It is an eight-sided wooden mill.
There has been a windmill in Oterleek since probably 1633. The predecessor of the current mill was burnt down in 1899. After that the miller's house and the remains of the mill were sold and the present mill was built.
In 1963, the milling business stopped and the mill was sold to the municipality. In 1974, the municipality transferred it to the Schermer Molens Foundation.
The windmill is now managed by the De Raphaelstichting foundation, which runs the windmill and a bakery in the adjacent barn with the aid of mentally handicapped people. The windmill rotates and grinds regularly.
