Dhërmi - the jewel of the Albanian Riviera
Albania is worth a trip, and not just because of Dhërmi, no doubt about it. I was thrilled by the culture and nature!
Dhërmi is a picturesque coastal village in the south of Albania, nestled between steep mountains and the turquoise-blue Ionian Sea. The architecture in Dhërmi is strongly influenced by the "Greek style". This is due to the fact that the region was historically characterised by a Greek-speaking population. The houses were traditionally built from local stone and whitewashed to reflect the heat and give the village a visually uniform and bright appearance.
