The idea of bringing together two walls from different eras came from my desire to capture the timeless dynamism of this city. The juxtaposition of medieval and modern elements symbolises the evolution of Deventer over the centuries.
The atmosphere I want to convey with this work is one of harmonious duality. The picture exudes a balanced tension between two extremes: the rustic, lived-in wall that speaks of history and the sleek, modern wall that resonates with contemporary dynamics. Together, they form a visually poetic landscape that reflects the city and its timeless nature.
