About the artwork

The image takes you to an enchanting medieval alley in Deventer, where time seems to have stood still. The cobbled street, framed by historic buildings with characteristic facades, exudes the atmosphere of days gone by. At the heart of this quaint alley is a curious passer-by who takes a quick peek around the corner. His posture and expression suggest a mixture of wonder and discovery amid the medieval splendour.

The visual power of such'an alley, with its architectural details and timeless aesthetics, formed the basis of my creative impulse. The moment of the passer-by peering curiously around the corner symbolises the eternal quest for discovery and wonder.

This work seeks to take the viewer on a journey through time, to a place where history becomes tangible. It highlights the eternal human urge for discovery and the wonder that arises when we open up to the beauty of the past. The curious passer-by acts as a symbolic element that reminds us of the power of curiosity in the search for hidden treasures, both in cities and in life itself.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
