About ‘Defying wind and waves’ by Walter G. Allgöwer

The narrow pier stretches out into the Atlantic like a groping thought, determined and vulnerable at the same time. Beneath it, the sea seethes, dark and heavy, churned up by a storm that asks no questions. Waves pile up, roll in and crash against the end of the bridge with thunderous force, as if they are constantly renegotiating the transition between land and infinity.
Spray explodes in white turmoil, rises like fleeting breath and falls back into the restless water. The sky above is wide and moving, clouds drift like restless dreams, broken by light and full of tension. Everything is in motion, nothing remains still - and yet there is a strange order in this chaos, a rhythm of coming and going.
The stones on the shore gleam wet and dark, silent witnesses to the countless storms that have already passed by here. The pier stands firm, narrow and steadfast, a human sign of defiance and closeness to the elemental. It does not connect two shores, but courage with humility.
Here, on the coast of Madeira, the grandeur of nature is palpable. The Atlantic speaks loudly and unmistakably - and those who listen will also recognise a raw, honest beauty in its roar.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
