The Zwaakse Weel is the remnant of an old creek which was located between the Honte (now Westerschelde) and the Veerse Diep in the Netherlands. Nowadays it is located near the village of Kwadendamme.
Until the 15th century, the Zwake was the connection between Middelburg and Antwerp. This spur of the Scheldt separated the island of Zuid-Beveland from the island of Borssele. When, in the 15th century, the importance of the Honte (the present-day Westerschelde) increased, this river was dammed up at the height of 's-Gravenpolder. After that, the area was gradually reclaimed.
