Kleine Oostpoortbrug
The Kleine Oostpoortbrug (formerly called Oostpoortbrug) is an iron drawbridge in the centre of the Dutch city of Delft, province of South Holland. The bridge is located near the Oostpoort, Delft's only remaining city gate. The bridge is a national monument and dates from the year 1514.
The bridge is part of the Oostpoort from 1514. The bridge could be raised to close the gate. Several restorations have taken place on the bridge, but it has retained its original character. The current bridge was probably originally designed by the city architect C.J. de Bruyn Kops in 1867, executed in cast iron and wood. In 1903, it was replaced by a riveted structure designed by M.A.C. Hartman. The two dates can be found on the iron bars.
