Daydreaming at the harbour in Giardini Naxos, Sicily by Silva Wischeropp

A romantic, dreamy evening atmosphere, with the cloudy sky reflected in a puddle of water in the harbour basin at Giardini Naxos.
This seascape was taken during my photography trip to the island of Sicily, in southern Italy. The reflection of the clouds on the water creates a tense, dramatic atmosphere in the image. The soft, gentle evening light lends the natural scene an enchanting, nostalgic atmosphere. The fishermen in the Sicilian harbour have moored their boats and are resting up for the next day’s hard work fishing the following morning.

This maritime harbour scene was captured in the late evening of 25 October 2024 using a NIKON D800 camera (lens: NIKKOR 24.0–70.0 mm f/2.8) at the picturesque old harbour basin in the beautiful fishing village of Giardini-Naxos on the island of Sicily.
I discovered this enchanting harbour during my autumn trip whilst taking a daily stroll along the stunning coastal road.
This popular tourist destination is situated directly on the east coast of Sicily, not far from the fantastic city of Catania. Giardini-Naxos captivates visitors with its clear, turquoise sea, stunning beaches and a unique bay perfect for water sports enthusiasts and swimmers alike.
