Two water lilies in bloom. These water lilies are of the species James Brydon. They are aquatic plants: the flowers and leaves float on the water, but the roots hold the plants in place. With about 60 species, this is a small family. The plants are found worldwide, outside the polar regions and deserts. In Flanders and the Netherlands, yellow plump (Nuphar lutea) and white water lily (Nymphaea alba) occur naturally. This is pink variety. The plant needs sun . Only in full sun the flowers open. In the evening, the flowers close for the night. Flowering time is from June to September and the plant is about 10-30 centimetres high. Needs no special care. Suitable for the pond.
