On a sunny, partly cloudy day, I was walking through the coastal town of Lagos in the Algarve, Portugal. I was looking for (street) cats to photograph. By the end of the morning, I had not found a single cat in the entire town centre, when I suddenly thought that maybe I should look up. And there sat this handsome proud cypress cat enjoying the sunshine on the roof of a house. The eaves of the house was decorated with those beautiful typical Portuguese tiles. In a Delft blue colour too. Well! What a stroke of luck! I had to capture that one, of course. I still look at it regularly, because that cat is enjoying its freedom so much, which gives me a good feeling too. And a nice reminder of special Portugal.
If you love Portugal and love cats, this happy cat might also have a place on your wall.
