About "Cuba - Abandoned Building in Havana"

About the artwork

Close-up of the balcony of an old building in Havana, Cuba. A place that, I imagine, was in the past a prestigious building. Spectacular columns and carvings show a rich architectural style. But now a plant is growing on the ceiling. Rusty railings, worn out walls, windows that haven't been cleaned in years, and a feeling of disrepair and decay are present.

This scene is very common to see in Habana Vieja, the old district of Havana. Nevertheless, it is still somehow, deeply attractive. Nostalgia floats in the air. A warm atmosphere also, because of its privileged position in the Caribbean sea. We stroll trought the streets and become time travellers. And then, we realize that the beauty of Cuba resides on the stories that its buildings could tell. And couldn't be otherwise. Is like a gestalt principle: we get in contact with these old buildings and our brain complete the scene with immaginary stories that could happen in the past. We turn on the lights, clean the plants on the ceiling, give the walls their original bright color back and can almost smell the smoke of a cigar and hear the melody of salsa songs.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
