About the artwork

My artwork "Crossing" shows a surreal and minimalist image of a zebra's crossing, where a zebra is in the process of crossing. The interesting aspect of this work is that the setting sun casts a beautiful shadow of the zebra across the crossing.

The artwork invites the viewer to wander into the fascinating world of contrasts and symbolism. The intersection, a place of transition and encounter, symbolises the choices and challenges we face in our lives. The zebra crossing the junction represents the courage and adventure required to overcome obstacles.

The setting sun adds a touch of magic to the scene, with the shadow of the zebra creating a play of light and dark. This element of projection and shadow gives the artwork a surreal and dreamlike feel.
