Mist in the winter can be really gloomy, moody and dark. The perfect conditions for dark fairytale forest images, yet on this winter morning the sun peeked through and brightened up this scene. I immediately spotted the trees which cross each other and when the sun was staring to light them up, I could not resist making a photograph. The fog in the background is still moody and blueish, but these trees were in the spotlights, which they deserved with this great performance. Some autumn leaves were still hanging on to the lower branches in the background, whilst the other trees were mostly bare, which helped in simplifying this scene to lines and light.
