This is the bottom of a small pond in the Loowaard nature reserve near Groessen in Gelderland. This picture was taken on 18 June 2011 during the drought that affected the whole of the Netherlands. The Konik horses that normally live here had all been caught and moved to an area where artificial irrigation could be used. In the midst of this drought, there is still a brave little plant that stands out fresh and green against the drabness.
