This was the courtyard of a small church in Funchal, Madeira. I really like the composition of this photo, with the shadow like this over the door. I can't explain it exactly but something about this photo just makes sense. The mysterious door, the faint mural on the white walls.... I think it's a beautiful photo.

Hello, my name is Erwin van Kester (1988) and I live in Rijswijk, near Delft. I like taking pictures of places, but also of events. With places, I try to capture the atmosphere of a place with a nice perspective.
At events, I try to capture what is happening like 'fly on the wall', preferably without the other attendees noticing. Photos are most fun when people do not realise there is a camera present.
