Corn poppies, cornflowers, cereals and wild grasses

by AidasignArt

Like a soft echo of summer, this composition opens up into a poetic meadow landscape. The intense red of the poppy enters into a lively exchange with the cool blue of the cornflowers, supported by golden corn stalks and interspersed with a variety of wild grasses and flowers. In the midst of the lush profusion of flowers, the occasional faded plant can be seen, its seed capsules telling of transience and the cycle of becoming.

The depiction does not follow a strict principle of order, but is orientated towards the natural rhythm of a meadow. Shapes, colours and lines combine to create a seemingly free, yet finely balanced structure. Transparent layers, soft transitions and flowing contours create a lightness reminiscent of watercolour painting. The white primed canvas deliberately remains visible and opens up a quiet space in which light and breath are allowed to work.

The work oscillates between precise observation and inner memory. It dispenses with botanical precision in favour of an atmospheric approach to nature. This creates a moment of lingering, in which blossoming and decay stand side by side on an equal footing. The meadow is not experienced as a concrete place, but as a fleeting state - gentle, timeless and filled with quiet intensity.
