The harbour quay of a container terminal and a container ship. A bunker ship alongside the many container cranes. Vans on the port quay to take container lashers to and from the ships.
A fleeting moment on a sunlit afternoon at the Maasvlakte. The ships in full operation loading and unloading. Crane drivers and container lashers hidden in cabins and among the containers. No people to be seen but plenty of movement to be seen and heard. The alarms and shouts of the men.
The container ship moored but almost ready for departure to the next port. The Maasvlakte a bustle of activity its landscape frozen in this moment in this photo. The colours of the containers stand out harshly against the black hull of the container ship the orange chimney between the container cranes. The longer you look the more details you see. The photo never ceases to amaze you just like the port itself.
