Consolidated PBY Catalina "Miss Pick Up".
The Consolidated PBY Catalina was a flying boat designed by the American company Consolidated Aircraft that could land both on water and on a runway. The Catalina was used by the U.S. Navy, RAF, Russian and Canadian forces, among others, in the years from 1936 until after World War II. It is the most built seaplane with about 4,050 examples.
The Dutch Naval Air Service (MLD) used this type of aircraft from 1941 to 1957.
The Catalina PH-PBY 'Karel Doorman' was the oldest aircraft still flyable. Unfortunately, the Catalina PH-PBY Foundation had to sell this aircraft and it was flown over to North America in 2019 to its new owner, the Collings Foundation.
