Colours of the rainforest – a fire-tailed toucanet with a nut in its beak by Jiri Viehmann

With its brightly coloured beak and striking plumage, the fire-tailed toucan looks like a living work of art from the tropical rainforest. In this close-up shot, the exotic bird sits calmly on a branch, holding a piece of fruit in its beak – a quiet moment full of natural elegance and balance. The intense colour palette of yellow, red, black and green reflects the lush diversity of the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica, one of the most species-rich regions on Earth.

The bird’s gaze appears alert yet serene, as if it has become completely attuned to the rhythm of its surroundings. The soft light highlights fine details in the plumage, lending the scene an almost painterly quality. The combination of tropical vegetation and the distinctive appearance of the fire-tailed trogon creates a harmonious connection between wildlife and the natural environment.

This motif brings the warmth, vibrancy and exoticism of the rainforest into any room. It speaks of untouched nature, biodiversity and the quiet beauty of a moment that usually remains hidden. Ideal for nature lovers and anyone seeking a colourful, soothing atmosphere with a touch of tropical wilderness.
