Colours of the Evening City

by Color Square

Abstract cityscape rising from a sea of colour and texture. Vertical stripes suggest tall buildings, constructed from thick layers of paint applied with powerful, visible brushstrokes. In the centre, an intense yellow area shines like a sun-drenched tower, flanked by warm shades of orange and red on the left. These warm colours blend subtly into one another, evoking a sense of energy and liveliness.

On the right, the palette shifts to cool tones such as blue and purple, creating an intriguing contrast between warmth and coolness. The paint is applied thickly; ridges and textural differences catch the light and give the surface an almost tangible depth. At the bottom, the shapes fade into darker shades, as if the city is reflected in water or dissolving into shadow. Small, irregular edges and scraping movements in the paint betray a spontaneous working method and give the work a raw character.

This abstract painting combines colour contrast, modern composition and expressive texture into a powerful whole reminiscent of a skyline at sunset — a fusion of abstract art and urban energy.
