Blooming heaths, always a beautiful sight in August. We have a piece of them in Breda too, namely the Galderse Heide. So this heath is proudly featured in the Breda national anthem.
But that does not of course give you a catchy picture of this piece of nature.
A number of mornings in August you can find me here on the heathland. Preferably before sunrise, waiting for a special spectacle. Often there is none, sometimes there is surprise.
This morning, the sky is beautifully translucent. Fortunately, the sun also gets a chance to pierce through the cloud cover and cast a streak of light across the heathland.
In composition, I choose a spot that draws you into the picture, as it were, via the sandy path in the foreground.
Big on the wall, it makes for a great eye-catcher!
