Between the rocks and sand of the Red Sea, this soft, colourful coral reef grows in full splendour. Shades range from powder pink and soft yellow to warm orange, with an almost velvety texture that subtly reflects the light. This underwater photo was taken at Dahab, a popular dive site on the Egyptian coast, where the water is clear and the reef exceptionally well-preserved.
The composition puts the focus entirely on the coral: it lives, breathes, grows and forms the foundation of the marine ecosystem. In the background, you can see the sea slowly turn into a deep blue glow, making the colourful structures in the foreground stand out even more. Each piece of coral is unique in shape, like a sculpture from nature.
This work appeals to lovers of diving, nature and marine life. It is an ode to the reef: fragile, complex and enchanting. For anyone who has ever looked underwater and felt wonder, or hopes to do so again, this sculpture captures the magic of the undersea world.
