Muizenberg is a suburb of Cape Town and is located by the sea. Muizenberg has a very long bright white beach (blue flag)) with dunes and is surrounded by mountains.
On the beach, you will find a nice mix of all walks of life and tourists. There are bathers and surfers and there is a very cosy vibe. It is one of my favourite beaches in Cape Town.
Besides the bright white beach and good hospitality, Muizenberg is known for its iconic, historic wooden beach houses in primary colours. Once upon a time, these brightly coloured bathhouses were driven onto the beach so that ladies of standing could change in them.
Almost the bathing huts had disappeared but through the efforts of Muizenberg residents, they were preserved and refurbished and painted again in 2017.
Today, these colourful cottages in primary colours attract a lot of attention. On Instagram, you often see the cottages passing by as well as in many a travel guide.
