On our tour of western and southern Europe, we also came to beautiful old Barcelona, the many shops in the old town were still closed, all the shutters were down. And what you never see when the shops are open, we saw now, the closed shutters in front of the shop windows all had pictures with graffiti. Awesome! Some consisted of big colourful tags, but others were real works of art in themselves! Like the shoe on the shutter of a shoe shop, or the lady with a hat who appears to be leaning against a shutter, the man on the ladder putting up a billboard. All equally artfully applied. There were also large doors covered in graffiti, less attractive perhaps, but for me as a photographer it certainly has something special too. I enjoyed walking around the quiet shopping streets, in every street and on every corner I made another beautiful discovery of a graffiti artwork. A collage of these artworks gives a nice impression of the atmosphere in which we walked around the quiet city, and gives a good idea of the many 'faces' of the different shutters in the old facades. This collage is great for on the wall, there is so much to see that you won't get bored easily!
