The soft light illuminates the foreground grasses, creating a dreamy and atmospheric scene. This image is perfect for adding a touch of peaceful majesty to websites, print media, or personal collections.
The Faraman Lighthouse stands as a solitary, striped sentinel in the wild, windswept expanse of the Camargue, near the historic city of Arles. Born from the necessity to guide mariners through the treacherous Rhône delta, its current robust stone form, completed in 1892, replaced a fragile wooden predecessor claimed by the sea. Rising over 46 meters, its striking black and white bands, painted in 1934, cut a distinctive silhouette against the vast Camargue skies, making it an unmistakable landmark.
The picture was taken during a Lighthouse expedition around Europe in 2025.
