Close-up of a hybrid iguana on St. Eustatius. St. Eustatius has the last Dutch population of the Antillean Green Iguana, which is seriously threatened by hybridization and habitat loss. On St. Eustatius, the invasive Green Iguana was discovered in 2016, which species can still mate with the Antillean Green Iguana, creating a hybrid breed. Dutch and local nature organization are trying to prevent this with the aim to preserve this last population.
