The Sierra Helada mountain range is located on the Mediterranean coast and is a landmark of the Costa Blanca in Spain. Hiking in the Sierra Helada Natural Park offers wonderful views of the blue Mediterranean Sea and the steep cliffs. This photo is dedicated to the impressive rock formations and cliffs that give the Sierra Helada its characteristic appearance. The side of the Sierra Helada facing the sea impresses with its steep rock faces, while the slopes facing away from the sea appear rather gentle.
Incidentally, the name Sierra Helada means icy or frosty mountain. This probably refers less to the Mediterranean temperatures and more to the misty light moods on the coast and the bright colours of the cliffs, which give the Sierra Helada a frosty appearance on some days (when seen from a distance).
