About ‘Classics’ by Dirk Lahuis

This Fine Art work captures the dynamic transition between two worlds: the volatile outside world and the silence of the street. The composition is an exploration of texture and contrast, contrasting the harsh, tactile environment with this woman's innocent presence.

At the centre of this urban landscape is a human figure, placed at the intersection of reality and reflection. This figure serves as an essential anchor point, introducing scale and narrative into the image. The person becomes the observer of his own environment, caught in a moment of quiet contemplation or haste. This creates a sense of intrigue and invites the viewer to question which world is the real one.

My passion for photography started early, around 1970. In the era of analogue photography, I bought a second-hand Agfa Iso Rapid Ic from my savings. Later, I could afford a new camera, and it became a Pentax K1000. I dreamed of a Contax, a Canon AE-1 or a Hasselblad, but those were out of my reach. What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
