"Citroën SM" (1970 - 1975) which, with "Citroën DS" (1955 - 1975), both stand out as automotive style icons of the 20th century. The SM could mean Maserati for series, as the first vehicles still had the Citroën-S-Maserati lettering. This was because Citroen initially shied away from building a V6 and V8 engine, even though these engines were already under development in the early 1960s. Top speed with the Maserati engine is 220 km/h!
