For me, the blue version of CircleSnake looks calmer and deeper than the black and white. The dark blue has something flowing about it, almost like water or ink spreading across the white background. Here too, the lines meander in circles and waves, into the picture and out again, as if they were continuing an endless rhythm.
While the black in the original appears very strict and rich in contrast, the blue creates a softer, almost meditative mood. It reminds me of currents in the sea or orbits in the night sky that you can only guess at. This creates a different energy - no less intense, but quieter, more withdrawn, almost like a breath.
I work with whatever is right at the moment: Acrylic, photography, digital. A work may begin on canvas and end somewhere else entirely. I layer, discard, edit. Mixed media and collages are my style.
