For me, cinnamon is much more than a classic Christmas spice - it embodies home, depth and culinary warmth. In this picture, I deliberately avoided staging and focussed entirely on the natural structure of the cinnamon sticks. Without decoration, just bundled raw with a simple wire - like you would find at markets or in old larders.
The individual rolls - slightly broken, with cracks and a rough surface - tell a story of origin and character. The hard light makes the reddish-brown wood fibres glow, while the dark background emphasises their earthiness.
This photo stands for reduction to the essentials. It fits perfectly in a kitchen with an industrial or rustic style, in a modern restaurant - or in the tea corner of a spice lover. For all those who can perceive sensuality without a lot of frills.
