While just before departure in the Netherlands one blossom after another was in bloom, I feared for the worst. Not being able to see the cherry blossom that symbolises spring and a new beginning. This makes it a magical period for many Japanese.
Tokyo by now was no longer shrouded in pink blossom, but when I saw the Chureito Pagoda enveloped in dozens of sakura trees from the train, my wish had come true.
With Mount Fuji in the background, the setting sun creating a magical effect, this is one of the most beautiful moments in Japan for me.
