The freestanding tower is, in addition to the foundation of boulders, the only remaining part of the late-Romanesque cross church. Only the transept remains after major alterations in the 18th and 19th centuries. Apart from the demolition of the choir and the nave, the walls of the church were lowered slightly, clearly visible from the truncated alcoves above. During the last renovation, large round arch windows were also installed.
