The Chrysler Imperial, and this is what the name finally expresses, was one of the best and most luxurious the company had to offer. With a top-steered Hemihead V8 engine and 5426 cm³, this brought about 180 bhp (132 kW) to the rear wheels. Imperial was also the length of the car with just under 5.41 m and guaranteed not to fit in every garage! The successor vintage of 1954 had then already exactly 6.00 meters. The weight was of course also very imperial-potent, which the engine had to propel, depending on the model between 2.0 and 2.6 tons.
