This photo shows the impressive changing room at the Rammelsberg mine in Goslar, where miners kept their work clothes and equipment on a unique hanging system. Each miner had their own metal basket ('locker') that hung from the ceiling and could be lowered via a cable system. These baskets contained protective clothing, boots, helmets and even a soap dish, carefully stored to ensure order and hygiene. The whole forms a fascinating image of industrial functionality and historical mining culture.
