About "Cat mom with Stars in her Eyes"

About the artwork

A cat lady looks at the viewer with sparkling eyes as flowers and stars are strewn on a yellow background. Her pink hair flutters in the wind and she smiles kindly.

The work gives one a feeling of spring and a new beginning; of sunshine and the awakening of nature.
It also refers to Tokyo's Harajuku girls, as the cat mother has pink hair, ears and wears vintage clothes with a wide, kimono sash.

I myself am a cat mum and notice that I get very excited when I see cats in general these days. Don't get me wrong, I love all animals, including dogs, but it's only when you have a cat in your home that you notice how much fun they are, how much you come to love them and how much you engage with them.

The work is build up of small pieces of paper. You can see this nicely when you look at the hair or look at the stars or flowers, because they cast a slight drop shadow.

It was a challenge to enter a competition with a paper cut illustration. You then have to find the range of yellow shades to go with it in your own paper collection. I also use recycled paper and everything from cardboard packaging to wrapping used for flowers. I also like to draw patterns myself, as you can see on the blouse as well as the cardigan.

For people who like manga, Japan or vintage, this is a beautiful and colourful work to have.

My work distinguishes itself by strong colours and clear shapes. I work with ecoline, ink and pencil, but I also like to cut and paste.
I get my inspiration from nature and like to daydream. Animals and people sometimes seem to melt together in these reveries.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
