Camels look at me when I want to take a picture. I drive through northern Mauritania and I notice that there are very few camels. Very occasionally I see a stray camel. Herds of camels I do not encounter at all. It seems that Mauritania is also suffering from climate change and the ongoing drought. That is why the camels have moved to the south of this immense country in West Africa. Through the Sahara towards Senegal. So that's where the camels have gone. Too bad, because I like to see camels. Fortunately I see a small group of camels and I walk towards them to take a picture. They stand still and look at me. As if they have never seen a tourist with a camera. And maybe that is true. There are not that many tourists here. About as many as camels.
